Objective

Full-Time, Large Animal Associate; This position will be a member of the United Veterinary Service (Bear Creek, WI) team and will serve the geographic area surrounding Northwoods Veterinary Service (Birnamwood, WI). Immediate access to well-established herds and a loyal client base.

Focus on milk quality, herd health, and ambulatory services; On-Call shared by all doctors; Ability to develop clinical skills with experienced mentors; Commitment and support to your career goals and professional growth. 

Training Required

DVM/VMD licensed to practice in WI; USDA Level II Accreditation

The potential candidate should be proficient in rectal palpation and ultrasound, and have a basic understanding of production animal medicine, individual cow medicine, and be able to perform common on-farm surgical procedures.

Facilities/Equipment Provided

Stocked practice vehicle, Ultrasound with Goggles, In-House Blood Analyzer, In-House Incubator for Cultures, In-House x-ray (Small patients), DC305 records analysis and record keeping, certified with USDA to do Johne's testing and regular BVD-PI testing.

Other Personnel

Northwoods team includes 1 Veterinary Assistant who helps with herd checks and does our in-house lab testing and 2 in-house office staff.

United team includes 6 DVM's, full-time Practice Manager, and an experienced support team
