Associate Veterinarian - Small Animal
CLINIC: NORTHWOODS VETERINARY SERVICE
https://www.northwoodsvetservice.com/
ABOUT US!
Northwoods Veterinary Service has been serving central Wisconsin for nearly 20 years. Historically, NVS is a 2-doctor practice that has served dairy and livestock clients. Due to the growing demand for small animal services in the surrounding communities, a significant investment has been made to the facility to accommodate the addition of a small animal veterinarian. Northwood Veterinary Service is located outside the village of Birnamwood in the town of Norrie, WI which is 30 miles from the Wausau and Granite Peak Ski communities, and only 80 miles from Green Bay!
The Veterinary Approach
Veterinarians employ state of the art technology that is very similar to technology used in the treatment of humans. Veterinarians in private clinical practice work to prevent disease and other health problems in their patients. They examine animal patients, vaccinate them against diseases, prevent the transmission of animal disease to people, and advise owners on ways to keep pets and livestock well-nourished and healthy.
When health problems develop, practitioners must diagnose the problem and treat the patients. Accurate diagnosis frequently requires the use of laboratory tests, radiography or x-rays, and specialized equipment. Treatments may involve a number of procedures including emergency lifesaving measures, prescribing medication, setting a fracture, performing surgery, or advising the owner on feeding and care of the patient.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is perfect for someone who is looking to build a customized small animal practice! The practice currently hosts 1 exam room, 1 surgery room with gas anesthesia and monitoring equipment, digital x-ray, Idexx Laboratory Suite, and Impromed Infinity software. Decision-making and policy development would be at the discretion of the veterinarian, with support and guidance from the Heritage Vet Partners network! We are excited to grow at your pace!
