Senior HR Generalist, Global Workforce

Omaha, NE

About Heritage Vet Partners

Heritage Vet Partners (HVP) is a growing veterinary services company supporting clinics and farm sites across the U.S. Behind every clinic is a team that makes sure our people have what they need to do their best work.

About the Role

St. Peter, MN or Omaha, NE (on-site)
We're looking for an experienced HR leader to guide our Global Workforce program. You'll lead a team that manages TN (USMCA) visa processing and housing coordination for our Mexican-national professionals. You'll be the expert who trains the team, reviews their work, and steps in on the complex cases. You'll also provide senior HR generalist support across onboarding, leave, benefits, and employee relations for this population.

If you have hands-on TN experience, enjoy developing people, and want to build a program rather than just maintain one, this role was made for you.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and grow the team. Set priorities and quality standards for our HR Operations and HR Immigration team members. Coach them on complex cases and judgment calls, and cross-train so knowledge never sits with one person.
  • Own TN program quality. Oversee the end-to-end TN process, from eligibility review and support letters to port-of-entry preparation and renewals. Serve as the final HR reviewer before signature and as the team's main contact with immigration counsel.
  • Keep everyone on track. Make sure status, I-94, and expiration dates are tracked and flagged early. Oversee I-9 and E-Verify for international hires, and run periodic file audits.
  • Oversee employee housing. Guide the team through housing sourcing, leases, move-ins, and maintenance. Make sure arrangements are compliant and costs stay on budget.
  • Create a great arrival experience. Partner with Recruiting on international hiring and with the team on arrival logistics, orientation, and integration.
  • Provide senior generalist support. Handle complex onboarding and offboarding, leave of absence cases, payroll and benefits questions, and employee relations triage.
  • Keep us compliant and improving. Apply Minnesota and multi-state employment requirements, build the SOPs the team works from, and recommend process improvements as the program grows.
  • Report on the program. Keep HR leadership and Business Leaders informed on program status, upcoming expirations, time-to-start, and housing.

What You Bring

  • 5–7+ years of progressive HR generalist or HR operations experience
  • Experience leading and developing HR team members
  • Hands-on TN visa experience with Mexican-national employees, deep enough to train others and review their work
  • Experience coordinating housing for international or relocated employees
  • Working knowledge of Minnesota employment rules and U.S. employment law (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, I-9/E-Verify)
  • HRIS experience (Paylocity or similar)
  • Sound judgment, discretion with confidential information, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel quarterly to clinic and farm sites, with occasional overnight stays
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Nice to Have

  • Bilingual Spanish reading and writing
  • Experience working with immigration counsel or external mobility partners
  • Background in agriculture, livestock, or veterinary settings
  • Multi-state compliance experience
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification
