Position Summary
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join our FP&A team at a pivotal point in the company’s growth. This is a high-visibility role that blends traditional financial reporting and analysis with modern data analytics. You will engage with stakeholders across the business — from senior leadership to veterinarians and practice leaders in the field — translating operational reality into financial insight and, in turn, making financial performance clear and actionable at the practice level.
The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, genuinely curious about the business, and comfortable moving between the C-suite and the clinic floor. If you enjoy building — models, analyses, processes — and want to see the impact of your work in real time across a growing platform, we want to hear from you.
This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work onsite three days per week and remotely two days per week. Onsite days are based out of our Overland Park office and may be determined by team or business needs.
What You'll Do
Revenue & Margin Analytics: Analyze revenue, COGS, and gross margin trends at the practice, service line, and product level — including vendor rebate tracking and optimization. Identify drivers, flag anomalies, and partner with practices to improve profitability.
Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for senior leadership, the board, and external stakeholders. Own the narrative behind the numbers.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the annual budget process and maintain a rolling weekly cash flow forecast. Partner with practice and corporate leaders to build bottoms-up plans and keep the business ahead of its numbers.
Strategic Analysis: Build business cases for new initiatives, investments, and operational decisions. Develop and monitor practice-level benchmarks and KPI frameworks that help leadership and practices evaluate performance.
Acquisition Integration: Transition new acquisition quality of earnings outputs into the budget and forecasting framework. Onboard newly acquired practices onto finance dashboards and reporting processes.
Process & Tools: Continuously improve how we collect, model, and report data — from commission calculations to reporting workflows — including thoughtful use of AI tools to accelerate analysis and free up time for higher-value work.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- 2+ years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, accounting, or a similarly analytical role. Multi-site, healthcare, or sponsor-backed experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, with a solid understanding of the three financial statements and how they connect.
- Hands-on data analytics experience — comfort with large datasets, SQL or similar query tools, and translating messy data into clear answers.
- Clear, direct communication style — able to explain financial concepts to non-finance audiences, including veterinarians and practice staff.
- Ownership mindset: you follow through, sweat the details, and don't wait to be told what to do next.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and comfort navigating financial data across platforms.
Bonus Points
- Exposure to veterinary, healthcare services, or other multi-site business models.
- Power BI experience (DAX, data modeling, dashboard design).
- Demonstrated fluency with AI tools for analysis, modeling, or process automation.
- Experience supporting M&A, integration, or quality-of-earnings workstreams.
- Experience with Acumatica or veterinary practice management systems.
